Edinburgh Coalition Against Poverty

Edinburgh Coalition Against Poverty organises to combat poverty on the principle of solidarity and self-activity in communities and workplaces, actively rejecting influence by any political parties. We work and fight alongside individuals facing poverty related problems and oppressive behaviour from the authorities. We also conduct wider campaigns on specific issues using the same principles of solidarity and self-activity.

We invite people to get involved in ECAP. We hold regular stalls outside jobcentres in Edinburgh to encourage claimants to stand up for ourselves and support each other. The more at the stalls the better – contact us to find out the next date. We have monthly zoom meetings – contact us if interested in finding out more about ECAP. More about ECAP principles.

ECAP run free support and solidarity support sessions every Tuesday for benefit hassles, debt, housing problems etc. The support sessions are by appointment only. Contact ecapmail@gmail.com to make an appointment on a Tuesday. When you get in touch, we will send you full details of the address including info on public transport to the venue and accessibility info. The appointments run from 10.30am till mid-afternoon.
