Info
autonomy: independence, independent; the right of self government; an independent state or community; freedom to act as one pleases; freedom of will. Some members of the ACE collective were involved in running the Unemployed Workers' Center on Broughton Street as a campaigning and social space.Unfortunately this lively and successful community Center was forcibly and illegally evicted by Edinburgh Council on Dec. 1st, 1994. Despite a long lack of premises, activities continued to flourish. Then in February 1997, ACE found its "Center" at 17 West Montgomery Place.
ACE is organised and used by a variety of groups and individuals.
ACE is run collectively by a friendly group. Anyone is welcome to come along to our open meeting that are held on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30pm at ACE.
We share a vision of a world without bosses and so try to work together non-hierarchically in a spirit of respect and friendship. By sharing experiences, skills and knowledge, we hope to help each other improve our homes, communities, workplaces and lives. We try to contribute to the struggles going on around the world that aim to transform our society for the better.
